Strong growing herbaceous plant with large pale green slightly hairy leaves and tall stems carrying large blue flowers in summer. Best in good rich fertile slightly acidic soil with plenty of organic matter added before planting. Benifits from a mulch of compost and rotted manure (if available in autumn). We grow them in the open but in warmer areas best in cool sheltererd spot.
